To support our Shipmanagement at the next possible time, we are looking for a Newbuilding Project Manager (m/f/d).

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Review and comment on specifications and drawings during initial project stages in cooperation with yards and designers
  • Support yards selection as well as contract and technical negotiations for newbuild projects
  • Negotiate specifications, system drawings, and 3D reviews with yards together with the teams of owner's representives
  • Coordinate daily newbuilding project activities, directly reporting to the Head of Newbuilding & Projects
  • Organize, review and negotiate proposals as well as supplier selection for onboard systems, ensuring compliance with company standards, reliability and optimized OPEX 
  • Evaluate technical solutions and suppliers regarding maintenance costs, maintainability, durability, regulatory compliance and operational usability
  • Review and comment on drawings for approval in close cooperation with internal experts and project partners
  • Stay up to date with technical development in machinery systems 
  • Liaison with classification societies, flag state administrations and regulatory bodies
  • Maintain close communication with site office teams, clarify technical issues, attend factory acceptance  tests and seatrials and provide technical support to site teams until vessel delivery

Your profile

  • Degree in ship-engineering or a related field 
  • Extensive professional experience in a senior position as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer 
  • Previous experience as a member of a newbuilding site team at a shipyard is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of business administration, including reporting
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to adapt to different cultures and mentalities within the international shipbuilding market 
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally
